Blair's 3am Reserve Extract Signed (2nd EDITION) Review:

Blair's 3am (NEW 2nd EDITION) Reserve Extract Signed, 2oz.: 1,800,000-2,000,000 Scoville units. 3 a.m. Reserve takes our classic 2 a.m. one step further. Gift Display Box is included as with all the Reserve Bottles. This new sauce from Blair's is the 1st time since the mid 90's that the bottle design has changed. Blair states these are 20% hotter than the Original 3am Reserves!

"Dear Chilipal,

Today, I am excited to announce the release of the next generation 2am and 3am Reserves!! This is the first time since the “am series” inception (back in the mid-1990’s) that the bottle has changed. First of all, you should know that if you currently hold a 2am or 3am Reserve, congratulations to you, as that incarnation will never be available again!!!

The new 2am and 3am Reserves (Now Available) both just got 20% hotter (again, commemorating our 20th anniversary), each bottle is 50% bigger, and the Italian resin that adorns each hand-crafted bottle will now vary batch to batch."

Nice Bottle, But Really Not That Hot

Posted by Bradley on Oct 27th 2011

I'M Not A Chili Head And Don'T Claim To Be One. But I Got A Very Large Sample On A Toothpick And Put It Straight In My Mouth And It Was Very Tolerable. I Swallowed It And It Made My Stomach Warm. But I Thought It Would Be Painful Or Something But It Wasn'T. Honestly It Doesn'T Taste Much Hotter Than Satan'S Blood. I Let My Thai Friend Taste It And She Handled It Very Well, It'S Spicy, Don'T Get Me Wrong, But I Was Expecting A Lot More.

    Hot But

Posted by Billy C on May 10th 2010

I Bought My First Bottle And Thought It Was To Cool Looking To Open. I Bought A Second Bottle, Determined To Open It And Try It Out ! After I Watched Several Videos On Youtube, I Decided To Air On The Side Of Caution And Started With Adding 3 Drops Off A Toothpick To A Bowl Of About 16 Oz. Of Chili And It Was Warm, But I Needed More !!! I Have Found About 12 - 15 Drops Gives My Chili The Heat I Crave. It Does Not Change The Taste Of Food At All. I Am Addicted To It Now And Add It To Everything. It Has Extreme Heat That Does Not Linger Long Enough Is My Only Complaint. Try It Out. Feel Alive !!!!!!!!

    Yes, Virginia, That'S Two Million!

Blair'S 3 A.M. Reserve Is The Hottest Thing I'Ve Ever Tasted, But Then I'Ve Never Sampled Pure Capsaicin Or Sulfuric Acid. It'S An Extract, And It Tastes Like It, But It Delivers The Heat. For Around 35, It'S Possibly The Best Value For Those Who Want To Test Their Heat Thresholds With 2M Shu. Actually, Cajohn'S Lethal Ingestion (Non-Extract) Is Probably A Better Value Overall, But It'S Not Quite As Hot, At A Mere 1M Shu. Cajohn'S Burn Lingers A While Longer Than Blair'S, But Blair'S Is More Intense. If Money Is No Object, There Are Hotter Products Available, But You'Ll Pay A Premium Price For Substances That Most Persons, Even Many Heat Aficionados, Can'T Handle. It'S Highly Recommended For Those Who Want The Most Heat That They Can Endure, But Who Don'T Want To Spend Over 50/Bottle. However, I Can'T Recommend It For Anyone Looking For A Tasty Sauce That Happens To Be Hot. Like The Warning Label States, This Product Is Not A Sauce But A Food Additive. 4/5 For Extract Taste.

    Great Stuff

Posted by The V on Apr 23rd 2008

Again, Cool Packaging With The Warning Labels, The Skull Keychain, And Wax (Which Is Still A Pita To Get Removed). This Is Considerably Hotter Than The 2Am, But Still Not Too Terribly Overbearing. Adds Some Nasty Heat Again Without Taking Away A Lot Of The Flavor. Bought This For A Friend And We Added It Again To Some Chili (Only About 5 Drops To 1 Qt. Or So Of Chili). Yes, This Is Extreme Heat. If You Are Not Used To The Hotter Sauces This Will Kick You In The Teeth. My Friend Immediately Got The Hiccups After The First Spoonful Of Chili, Which Is A Good Sign Of A Nice Hot Sauce. I Would Definately Recommend This If You Are Looking To Start Testing Your Pain Threshold With Sauces. Like The 2Am, The Heat Subsides In 5-10 Min. Another Great Product From Blair.
